What is the purpose of the Honeywell CO² air monitor?

Honeywell Transmission Risk Air Monitor is a portable device that measures carbon dioxide, temperature, and humidity. It has an alert system to warn users when it is advisable to ventilate the interior where they are, to warn that there are conditions that may increase the risk of potential exposure to viral transmission through the air.

In indoor spaces, the higher the concentration of CO₂ in the air, the greater the risk of particles in suspension. That’s why the CO₂ monitor helps analyse air quality using a simple and intuitive tool.

Real-time view

Its large TFT display shows you the concentration of CO₂ in ppm (parts per million), as well as the temperature and humidity in the room. Changes in the CO₂ concentration are highlighted by the 3 corresponding colours: green, orange, and red. Each time the level increases, the device sounds an alarm: 1 tone for orange level and 2 for red level. And by connecting to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, you can track data in real-time from your phone and your computer.

With 3 preset modes to suit your needs

The Honeywell device is pre-configured to suit your environment. To set up your device, simply choose one of 3 modes depending on the activity level of your interior space. There are three types of activity: low, medium, and high. The low level is intended for environments where there is little physical interaction, such as a classroom, where the activities reading or speaking quietly with a physical distance of approximately 1.8 m between each person.

The middle tier is intended for indoor spaces with some physical interaction. These can be restaurants or shops where people speak loudly, eat or move with a physical distance of approximately 1.8 m.

Lastly, the high level of activity is suitable for environments with a lot of physical interaction without distancing. It corresponds to environments in which physical exercise is performed

Easy mounting anywhere

The device is powered by a lithium-ion battery that can be recharged via a computer or via a supplied micro-USB charging cable. By placing it on a wall or stand, you can enjoy its functionality for a long time- up to 10 hours.

How do I properly install the detectors?

It is advised to install it at mid-height and in a neutral zone (no people on top of it and no drafts). It must be installed in an area that is considered neutral, not very close to the ventilation of persons (it is advisable to have about 2 metres of separation from any person), nor would it be advisable to perform the installation on ceilings because the air is denser and its tendency is to descend to the ground.

There is no coverage or range number of CO2, i.e. the air that reaches you will be measured, which is why its placement is important. In addition, in very large rooms, it is advisable to install 2 or more units because there can be a lot of difference in the air between one measurement point and another.

CO² meters are ideal to install in: School classrooms, offices, small offices, bars.

It is recommended to install more than one CO2 meter in: University lecture rooms, large offices without walls, waiting rooms for large hospitals.
