The Mitex HD UHF walkie Talkie is a powerful 5-watt portable radio, which has been pre-programmed and designed to withstand heavy use even in tough environments.

Mitex specializes in out-of-the-box PMR449 5-watt two-way radios. These pre-programmed 16-channel radios are an excellent solution for businesses and individuals who require more power and more range than a PMR446 radio can provide. This radio has a range that can extend to up to 25km in optimum conditions. As these radios are far more powerful than PMR446 radios, they require a license, which costs £75 for 5 years. Application forms are included in the pack. All Mitex-licensed radios can talk to each other on channels 13, 14, and 15.

The Mitex HD UHF has been designed with a dealer and hire users in mind. With an IP65 rating for water, dust, and shock resistance, it is Mitex’s most robust two-way radio. As it comes pre-programmed, it can be used straight out of the box. This model can be reprogrammed for specific communication needs by Mitex.

The maximum range given by manufacturers is based on ideal conditions, such as from hilltop to hilltop, but the range you actually get will be much less if you are in a built-up area. Trees, walls, hills and even the weather can affect the range of your two-way radio. The rule of thumb is that for every 1 watt you will get 1 mile of coverage guarantee, or more depending on the conditions.
