Two-Way radio for the security industry
The Mitex Security UHF is a powerful 5 Watt portable two-way radio, that is extremely durable, and manufactured to the highest standards making it ideal for the security industry.
Mitex specializes in out-of-the-box PMR449 5-watt two-way radios. These pre-programmed 16-channel radios are an excellent solution for businesses and individuals who require more power and more range than a PMR446 radio can provide. This radio has a range that can extend to up to 25km in optimum conditions. As these radios are far more powerful than PMR446 radios, they require a license, which costs £75 for 5 years. Application forms are included in the pack. All Mitex licensed UHF radios can talk to each other on channels 13, 14, and 15.

The maximum range given by manufacturers is based on ideal conditions, such as from hilltop to hilltop, but the range you actually get will be much less if you are in a built-up area. Trees, walls, hills and even the weather can affect the range of your two-way radio. The rule of thumb is that for every 1 watt you will get 1 mile of coverage guarantee, or more depending on the conditions.
